Hell, both the Vestal and the Crusader had trinkets on them that specifically gave them bonus Deathblow resistance and despite that, I wasn't able to make it through a single mission!īalance your friggen game, Red Hook. Everything deals stress damage, everybody gets afflicted within a few battles, and nobody seems to be able to resist Death's Door hits more than twice at a time (when in Apprentice and Veteran dungeons I've had heros at Death's Door tank entire waves of attacks and be fine!) I basically need to spam stuns on them on the few turns I do get just so that I don't get my butt slammed within two rounds. Like, what the hell am I supposed to do!? All the enemies seem to be able to attack way, way faster than any of my heros, they all have crazy agility and defence, meaning I have to stack accuracy trinkets just for a chance of hitting them. I do not understand how I am supposed to progress in this game when a solid party of well-rounded, max-level, max-skill, max-equip heroes with high-teir trinkets ends up getting obliterated by basic enemies in the shortest, most simple Champion level dungeons. At this point I am convinced that I am not the one with the problem here: This game needs some bloody balancing! This is not a difficulty curve, this is a difficulty wall. I am this close to giving up and slamming this game with a grudging negative review, I swear to god. I still haven't completed a single Champion level mission. I lost countless amounts of money and resources getting those guys to max level. We managed to take down one of the enemies in the four-fishman-f**kbrigade that killed us. The Vestal was killed by a bleed proc, then the Crusader had a heart-attack after being damaged by the Fallagalant (who was Raptous because of course he was) only for said Fallagalant to die of a heart-attack two rounds later - He got to deaths door with bleed damage, took stress damage, and died all in a row. Long story short? One room from finishing the mission (after losing my Plague Doctor to a heart-attack in the previous battle but pressing on anyway) All of my remaining guys died. 3 out of 4 of them had powerful stun moves (Plague doctor had two of them, in fact) and all of them were wearing unique trinkets from the Courtyard. I picked a short Champion level scout mission in the Cove and put in four of my most reliable guys: A Vestal, a Plague Doctor, a Fallagalant, and a Crusader.

So I followed this advice, I got the vast majority of my roster up to level 6, I poured money and upgrades into the Guild and Blacksmith and decked them all out in max level gear with maxed out skills, I ran through the courtyard and equipped all my guys with the cool unique trinkets you get from there, and eventually I even managed to kill the Baron (sacrificing 3 of my 4 Courtyard runners in the process, but that didn't bother me too bad because I still won) so that cured the curse and got the Court off my back.ĭuring this leveling process, I got hit by the Bandit Raid event, which was Champion level, but seeing as I was able to do it without any casualities, I was feeling pretty good with myself.įinally, I figured I was ready to try and take on some Champion level stuff. I made a post on this forum a while ago asking why the Champion level dungeons were so damn punishing (I'm playing "Darkest" difficulty, but hadn't finished a single one at that point) and got some advice saying I basically needed max level characters who could stun the crap out of everything, and that I should probably clear out the Courtyard mission so I stop being ambushed by Crimson Court guys every 2 seconds. Alright y'all get ready for some premium Salt.
